Welcome to the Fundació Institut Amatller d’art Hispànic.
Situated in one of the main buildings of Catalan modernism and one of the most prestigious history of art research centres in Europe, its artistic and cultural value lies beyond its unique and exceptional façade.
In the elegant Passeig de Gràcia, a visit to the Casa Museu Amatller invites us to make an exceptional journey back in time to the Barcelona of 1900 thanks to the preservation of all its original furniture and decoration in perfect condition.
Your visit allows you to discover all the splendour of Catalan modernism, and offers an exceptional tour of the house’s different artistic collections, including various glass and painting collections.
The Institut Amatller d’Art Hispànic is located on the first and second floors of the building. In addition to its research into the history of Hispanic art, it has a photographic archive open to the public with more than 360,000 negatives and a library with more than 30,000 art titles.
In addition to all this, the Foundation offers various cultural activities throughout the year, as well as an educational service and a department dedicated to promoting didactic and documentary aid for art researchers, architects and students.
From its foundation in 1943 to the present day, the Fundació Institut Amatller d’art Hispànic thus fulfils two main objectives:
1. Conservation, preservation and dissemination of the Casa Museu Amatller and all its collections.
2. Promotion of research into the history of Hispanic art, carried out through the prestigious Institut Amatller d’Art Hispànic.
